Shortnessofbreath

Yeah you must have also had an r to l shunt…

I think you should repeat the rhc with exercise and get a good read on pressures

At minimum a stress echo to get a good pressure read.

And start viagra.

Yes i have right to left shunt.I am taking viagra.

. I have sent u a picture of TEE test report. What does mean left to right shunt?

Okay, according to the report your shunt is left to right, not right to left.

However, with exertion your shunt may have been right to left as your pulmonary artery pressures may have raised high enough to divert blood down a path of lesser resistance.

Now that the path is patched up ( your asd is patched) your right ventricle has no other place to send the blood but through the pulmonary artery down the pulmonary vasculature. It’s probably something your vasculature is not used to doing.

And that activates j receptors causing shortness of breath, chest pressure feeling.

Now, 1st of all this test was done 2 years ago. Why did they wait that long to close your asd?

2nd, I thought you were on a calcium channel blocker, are you taking that with viagra?

The test is just a week ago. They mistook with my age.Yes I am taking calcium channel blocker with viagra. Is there any problem taking them both? And I feel worst in the morning after wake up.Is there any explanation?

They are both vasodilators…

Do you have a wedge pillow?

Calcium channel block may not be best bc it can cause your heart to pump less strongly

No I don’t have wedge pillow.Which medicine will be the best option?Today I will go to visit a cardiologist. Should I need to ask for any special medicine?

I would get off the ccb and start viagra.

Doctor added dirutics with CCB and viagra.I am also taking Ashma medications for my breathing problem . Although they could not figure out that i have asthma.

Why do they think you have asthma did you have pulmonary function tests indicating it?

I have done pulmonary function test. They said it was normal.X-ray,other blood test are normal. But they gave me inhaler, nasal spray, montilukast etc.

Why are they saying you have asthma?

May I see your pulmonary function tests?

They even say that my breathing problem is not related with my ASD.

Okay so your fvc and fev1 are both low… but the ratio normal…

It makes me think about a restrictive process…

Did you have any other pulmonary function tests? With the letters TLC, DLCO, MIPS, MEPS?

I dont think this is asthma.

Can you travel to the USA to get another opinion?

I too breath extremely shallow. Doctors cannot figure out why. My breathing is so shallow I cannot trigger pulsing on oxygen. I am back on continuous flow 24/7. Did you ever figure out what is wrong?

No, i just had a double thoracoscopy and laparoscopy and he saw nothing… mu previous laparoscopy they saw tons of adhesions ane fibrosis in the peritoneum.

So I don’t know what do any more.

Its been 5yrs and my life is unlivable at this point :frowning:

I understand the unlivable part. I try my hardest to find some kind of quality of life.

Have you done a “sniff” test wither by live X-ray or ultrasound? It checks your diaphragms. I know one of my diaphragms has paralysis, but doctors say that is not the cause of breathing issues. I have gastroparesis not caused by diabetes. They believe it was caused by lack of clean oxygenated blood from PFO my entire life which caused my Vagus nerve to be defective. But they say that nerve is not causing breathing issues.

So much for never smoking, no illegal drugs, or No excessive drinkIng my entire life.

My edema got bad again about the same time my breathing started declining last year.

Yeah i have done fluoroscopy and ultrasound… and my right hemi diaphragm is barely moving.

And is super thin…

But then this surgery he said everything looked great.

Btw if you have a hemi paralyzed diaphragm that can 100% cause your dyspnea… have you checked the phrenic nerve?
