hi i am a 26 yr old male, just got my a.s.d repaired 3 days ago by the Amplatzer Septal Occluder device.
My hole size was large it was 3.4cm. I'm just wondering has anyone had hole as large, heart surgeon said didn't realise it was going to be that big until they actually get down to do the repair. The procedure was successful thank god cause surgeon said its not all about the hole size its location is a big factor to as he said a girl was in last week and her hole was smaller but they couldn't get at it as they had to do open heart surgery. Mine was a big hole but at least they could complete the procedure. My palpitations have gone i feel more relaxed like my heart feels its at rest, kinda scary cause im used of feeling heart skipping and beating. I still have shortness of breath but as time goes on hopefuly it will improve.
